The Ferris State University men's ice hockey team will receive plenty of exposure throughout the 2006-07 season as the Bulldogs will be featured on television several times during the campaign.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to appear on FSN Detroit three times, including a Feb. 13 home contest against the Michigan State Spartans, and once on College Sports Television (CSTV). Ferris Television will televise two tape-delayed home encounters -- Nov. 10 versus Michigan State and the Nov. 17th game against the Michigan Wolverines.

Junior defenseman Jim Jorgensen and the Ferris State hockey team are scheduled to appear three times on FSN Detroit during the 2006-07 regular season, including a Feb. 13 home date against Michigan State.

Comcast Local will provide coverage of the Bulldogs' 2006-07 regular-season finale contest at Notre Dame on Feb. 24, starting at 7:05 p.m. (EST).

Ferris State may also make an appearance on FSN North, which will televise the Minnesota Golden Gophers' Dec. 30th contest against either Ferris or Massachusetts in the championship round of the Dodge Holiday Classic at UM's Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis, Minn. An 8:07 p.m. (EST) start time is scheduled for the tourney outing.

"We're thrilled to be on television several times this upcoming season," said Ferris State head coach Bob Daniels, who embarks on his 15th year at the helm this season. "The exposure generated not only helps us in recruiting, but affords the opportunity to make contact with our alumni and helps in attracting potential students. We're appreciative and it's truly a benefit to both the University and the hockey program."

FSN Detroit, which is celebrating its 10th season of televising CCHA hockey in 2006-07, will feature the Bulldogs three times as part of the "CCHA Game of the Week" package. Ferris will make its first appearance on Jan. 27 versus Michigan at UM's Yost Ice Arena following CSTV's televised Jan. 26 series opener between the two teams in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Bulldogs return to FSN Detroit in February as Coach Daniels' team faces Michigan State Feb. 9 at MSU's Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, Mich.

The highlight of FSN Detroit's 20-game college hockey schedule for Ferris is Tuesday, Feb. 13, when the Bulldogs host Michigan State in a 7:35 p.m. (EST) CCHA tilt at Big Rapids. FSN Detroit visited Ewigleben Ice Arena last season (March 3) to showcase the opening game of a 2005-06 CCHA Tournament First-Round series between the Bulldogs and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Prior to the contest, the last time a home Ferris contest was televised to either a national and/or regional audience was on Oct. 17, 1986 as the defunct Pro Am Sports System (PASS) had the Ferris State-Michigan State game on the tube. Shireen Saski returns to her role as FSN's rinkside reporter with Fred Pletsch beginning his seventh season as color analyst.

"We're excited to have FSN Detroit come back to our arena," said Daniels. "There's a lot to be proud of here at Ferris State. We're able to showcase our University and a significant number of viewers get a unique opportunity to see our enthusiastic fan support."

Ferris State officially opens its 2006-07 season with a two-game home non-league series against Union College (N.Y.) next weekend, Oct. 6-7, in Big Rapids. The Bulldogs and Dutchmen will square off at 7:05 p.m. (EDT) both evenings.
