Derek MacIntyre
Derek MacIntyre has been chosen as this week's CCHA Goaltender of the Week after helping the Bulldogs go 3-0-0 in last week's action.
Ferris State University junior Derek MacIntyre (Stanwood) was selected as the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's (CCHA) Goaltender of the Week (Feb. 19) for his role in the Bulldogs' three victories this past week.

MacIntyre, a 2004-05 CCHA All-Rookie Honorable Mention Team selection and a 2004 National Hockey League (NHL) eighth-round draft pick of the San Jose Sharks, earned the same honor on one occasion during his 2004-05 sophomore year.

MacIntyre blocked 80-of-84 shots on goal for a .952 save percentage in last week's action while posting a 1.33 goals-against average (four goals allowed) in 179:56 minutes of action in net. Two of the opposition's lamplighters were on the man-advantage. MacIntyre, who has a current four-game winning streak, turned away 23 shots in last Tuesday's 2-1 win over nationally-ranked Michigan State to earn game second-star honors and then followed with a 29-saves effort in Friday's 2-1 decision over Bowling Green State. The 6-2, 214-pound netminder help Ferris complete the weekend league series sweep of Bowling Green by stopping 28 shots in Saturday's 5-2 triumph against the Falcons. He received game star recognition in both encounters.

For the season, MacIntyre has produced a career single-season best 7-1-0 record with a 3.51 goals-against average (33 goals allowed) and an .883 saves percentage (250 saves) in 11 appearances. All of his victories have occurred in 2007.

In 36 career games, MacIntyre has compiled a 15-12-2 mark to go with a .887 saves percentage (826 total saves) and a 3.30 goals-against average (105 goals allowed).

Ferris, which has won five of its last six games to date, is presently 12-19-3 overall and 9-15-2 in the CCHA. The Bulldogs will close out their 2006-07 regular-season schedule this weekend (Feb. 23-24) versus the nationally number-one ranked and 2006-07 CCHA regular-season champion University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish at UND's Joyce Center in South Bend, Ind. This Friday's (Feb. 23) CCHA series opener will start at 7:35 p.m. (EST). The regular-season finale for both teams is Saturday (Feb. 24) beginning with a 7:05 p.m. (EST) opening faceoff. This Saturday's contest will be televised by Comcast Local.
