The Ferris State University men's ice hockey program will be showcased during the 2007-08 season as the Bulldogs will be appearing on television for several dates.

A highlight for Ferris State will be its first-ever home appearance on College Sports Television (CSTV) as the Bulldogs' Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) tilt against the Northern Michigan Wildcats on Saturday, Jan. 19, will be shown nationwide. As a result of television, the contest's starting time has been moved to 8:05 p.m. (EST) instead of the originally published 7:05 p.m. (EST) opening faceoff.

The CCHA contest will be available to viewers on either DirecTV channel 610 or Dish Network channel 152 along with those cable companies which carry CSTV. College Sports Television officially began in April 2003 as the first 24-hour network devoted exclusively to college sports. The debut was also noteworthy as College Sports Television was the first independent cable channel to appear on the nationwide DirecTV satellite system at launch.

Ferris State will also be making its debut on the newly-formed Big Ten Network, which was launched in August 2007. The opening matchup of the Bulldogs' home-and-home league series (Feb. 29-March 1) against the Michigan Wolverines will air live from UM's Yost Ice Arena with a 7:35 p.m. (EST) start time scheduled.Adam Miller
Senior Adam Miller along with his Ferris State teammates will be appearing on various television outlets throughout the 2007-08 campaign, highlighted by CSTV's showing of the Jan. 19 home contest versus Northern Michigan.

Ferris Television will continue to show the Bulldogs in the first half of the 2007-08 campaign, televising three home CCHA encounters on a tape-delayed basis. The Oct. 26 contest versus 2006-07 CCHA Regular-Season and Tournament Champion Notre Dame represents the first with the Nov. 30 outing against the Western Michigan Broncos and the Dec. 7 tilt versus 2006-07 NCAA Division I National Champion the Michigan State Spartans being the final scheduled broadcast.

Comcast Local, a midwest network providing sports programming and community-oriented events in Michigan and Indiana, will provide live coverage of Ferris' CCHA road encounters against Michigan State (Dec. 8) and Notre Dame (Feb. 8) at 7:05 p.m. (EST) and 7:35 p.m. (EST), respectively.

The Bulldogs' two league game home series against Alaska on Jan. 11-12 will be televised on KFXF Fox 7 out of Fairbanks, Alaska.

"We're appreciative and excited about the opportunities of having our program showcased on television," said Ferris State head coach Bob Daniels, who starts his 16th year as the Bulldogs' bench boss this upcoming 2007-08 campaign. "The exposure we received from TV is significant for both the University and its hockey program. I'm thrilled about the interest shown by CSTV in televising one of our home games and as a result, we have a special situtation of featuring our widely-recognized student section across the country.

"Having a great and energetic atmosphere reflects well for the Ferris State student body," added Daniels. the all-time winningest coach in Ferris' hockey history.

FSN Detroit, which will celebrate its 11th season of televising CCHA hockey in 2007-08, doesn't have the Bulldogs as part of its 2007-08 "CCHA Game of the Week" regular-season package. However, FSN Detroit will once again air both a first and second-round series game of the annual CCHA Tournament. The regional media outlet will also continue the tradition of completing the journey on the "Road to the Joe" with the presentation of both semifinal contests on Friday, March 21, live from Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich. The Mason Cup will be awarded to the new CCHA champion on FSN Detroit following the league championship game Saturday, March 22. Last season, FSN Detroit televised a regular-season game from Ferris' Ewigleben Ice Arena for the first time in over 20 years as the Bulldogs skated to a 2-1 league win over Michigan State on Feb. 13.

Periodically, the Bulldog hockey program will also be highlighted on CCHA All-Access, a half-hour weekly FSN Detroit show which will run 10 consecutive weeks throughout the conclusion of the 2007-08 CCHA season.

Ferris State will officially drop the puck for the upcoming 2007-08 season and its 30th season of intercollegiate competition next weekend, Oct. 12-13, versus the Union Dutchmen in Schenectady, N.Y. Opening faceoff for both non-conference games is 7:05 p.m. (EDT).

FSU returns home the following weekend, Oct. 19-20, to take on the Wayne State Warriors in the Bulldogs' 2007-08 home-opening series at the Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids. The opener for the two-game non-league set will commence at 7:05 p.m. (EDT) with the finale to get underway at 5:05 p.m. (EDT).
