|Ferris State hopes early-season success remains a constant for the entire 2007-08 men's ice hockey campaign.
With a split against Notre Dame and a sweep of the Buckeyes in Columbus, the Bulldogs were off to their best CCHA start since the 2002-03. That team, featuring recent Stanley Cup winner Chris Kunitz of the Anaheim Ducks, was the best in Ferris State history. The offensive powerhouse squad won the conference title and made it to the final eight of the NCAA tournament. . . .
Ferris State, which is presently 5-6-1 overall and 4-4-0 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) this season, returns to the ice next weekend, Nov. 30-Dec. 1, for a CCHA home-and-home series against the Western Michigan Broncos.
The Bulldogs, under 16th-year head coach Bob Daniels, host the Broncos next Friday (Nov. 30) in a 7:05 p.m. (EST) matchup at FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids, Mich. Ferris State will then travel to Kalamazoo, Mich., for Saturday's (Dec. 1) rematch at WMU's Lawson Ice Arena. A 7:35 p.m. (EST) opening faceoff is scheduled for the contest.
