Bulldogs Gain Recognition With Series Sweep of Nation's Second-Ranked Team

Freshmen defensemen Scott Wietecha and Zach Redmond helped Ferris State to a series sweep of second-ranked Miami (Ohio) this past weekend to earn College Hockey News' Team of the Week honor.

The nationally-ranked 2007-08 Ferris State University men's ice hockey team has been selected as this week's (Feb. 20) Team of the Week by College Hockey News (CHN).

Ferris State earned the national honor by registering a two-game Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) series sweep of nationally-ranked Miami (Ohio) last weekend (Feb. 15-16) at FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids, Mich. The Bulldogs skated to a 6-5 victory over the RedHawks in last Friday's (Feb. 15) series opener and then posted a 3-1 triumph in Saturday's (Feb. 16) finale to extend its current unbeaten streak to five games (3-0-2).
