Her other coaching experience includes two seasons (1999-00) as the head softball coach at her alma mater, Bridgeport High School, and one year (2000) as a volunteer assistant softball coach at SVSU. Beeckman has worked volleyball camps at Northwood, Michigan State, Michigan and Florida.

A 1994 Bridgeport graduate, Beeckman competed in varsity volleyball, softball, basketball and football as a prepster. She claimed softball team MVP Award laurels three times and was named to the Saginaw News All-Area Team twice along with being an All-Tri Valley Conference honoree at two positions (pitcher & catcher). Besides athletics, Beeckman also was a member of the school’s Student Leadership Forum and active in the Pep Club. She previously helped organize the Detroit Lions Training Camp during her time at Saginaw Valley State.
