The 2006 season marks Ferris State’s 34th women’s volleyball campaign.

Ferris State concluded the 2005 campaign with a 22-10 overall record and recorded the program's seventh 20-win season in the last eight years to date. FSU, which reached the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament for the eighth year in a row, also advanced to the NCAA-II National Tournament for the 13th time in school history.

Ferris State claimed its ninth GLIAC Championship in 2004 after winning the league’s annual postseason tournament for the first time in school history. FSU concluded the 2004 campaign with a 25-7 overall record and a second place 14-4 GLIAC North Division mark.

Ferris has won 20 or more matches seven times in 10 years under head coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm. The Bulldogs are 179-69 (.723) over the past eight years and have reached the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional Tournament four times in that span.

The Bulldogs return nine of their 18 squad members from last campaign. FSU has advanced to the GLIAC Tournament eight consecutive years.

Ferris has compiled a 240-62 (.795) record to date in 25 seasons of action (1981-present) at FSU’s Ewigleben Sports Arena. The Bulldogs are 82-15 (.845) in home matches since 1998. In 2002, Ferris posted an 8-0 home mark, which was the program’s sixth undefeated campaign in the 600-seat facility. FSU was 11-2 at home last season.

Senior outside hitter Danielle Baucher (Kalamazoo/Mattawan) garnered second-team Daktronics All-Great Lakes Region kudos along with honorable mention American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Great Lakes Region recognition last campaign. The 5-10 Baucher, who was a first-team All-GLIAC honoree last year, presently has 998 career kills to date and is two shy of becoming the 14th player in school history to join the 1,000 career kills club.

Senior middle hitter Karla White (New Baltimore/Anchor Bay) was a first-team All-GLIAC recipient last season.
