Bulldogs Are Among Teams Receiving Votes In National Poll

Senior Jeff Carlson and the Ferris State men's golf team are among teams receiving votes in the latest Golf World/Nike Division II Coaches Poll.
The 2006-07 Ferris State University men's golf team is among 17 teams who received votes in the second Golf World/Nike Golf Division II Coaches' Poll, which was released Wednesday (March 14).

The national top 25 poll combines the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Division I, III and the NAIA, will appear in the March 16 issue of Golf World and can be viewed online at

Ferris State is the lone representative of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) to attain recognition in the national poll as the Bulldogs earned two votes. West Florida moved up from seventh place to the top spot with 256 points and four first-place votes while Florida Southern dropped one placing to second and accumulated 244 points along with two first-place votes.

The Bulldogs will begin the spring portion of their 2006-07 season schedule on March 19-20 as head coach Brad Bedortha's squad competes in the St. Andrews Invitational at Vass, N.C. The tournament is being hosted by St. Andrews Presbyterian College and will be held at the Woodlake Resort and Golf Club.
