Bulldogs Listed In National Collegiate Men's Golf Poll

Coach Brad Bedortha and his Bulldog men's golf team received votes in Golf World's national rankings.

The Ferris State University men's golf team is among 27 teams receiving votes in the second installment of the 2007-08 Golf World/Nike Men's Golf Division II Coaches' Poll, which was released Sept. 19.

Ferris State, coached by ninth-year head coach Brad Bedortha, attained 13 points in the poll to finish one point behind Western New Mexico (14 pts.) and one point in front of Eckerd (12 pts.). Barry (Fla.) moved ahead of Florida Southern to claim the number-one slot with 254 points and five first-place votes. Florida Southern is second with 249 points, which includes four first-place votes.

Representing the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) along with Ferris State are Saginaw Valley State (six pts.) and Wayne State (four pts.).

The Bulldogs, who have placed among the top five in all three of their fall tournaments this season, will compete in the NCAA-II Great Lakes Regional Tournament I Sept. 23-24 at the HawksHead Golf Club in South Haven, Mich.
