Ferris State Finishes One Stroke Behind Tourney Champion
The Ferris State men's golf team turned in one of their best performances of the 2007-08 season as the Bulldogs compiled a two-round 578 team score at this weekend's (April 5-6) NCAA-II Great Lakes Regional Tournament II at the Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Ky. The tourney was hosted by Northern Kentucky.

The Bulldogs finished one stroke in back of tourney champion Indianapolis as the Greyhounds fired a 577 score (285-292=577) to Ferris' 578-stroke total (285-293=578) in the 20-team tournament.
Sophomore Kurt Valley continued to shine for Ferris State as he carded a 14th-place tying 145 (73-72=145). Joining him was junior Kelbi Lee, who also gained a share of 14th place by registering a 145 score (70-75=145).
Junior Derek Shelburne shot a 146 (71-75=146) and tied for 19th-place honors. Redshirt freshman Joe Brown was five strokes in back of Shelburne with a 54th-place tying 151-stroke total (71-80=151). Sophomore Eric Lilleboe, who was disqualified in Saturday's (April 5) opening round, fired a 71 in final-round competition.
