NCAA Logo The Ferris State University men's and women's golf teams will both compete in NCAA Division II Regional Tournament play this coming week.

The Bulldog men were chosen to compete in the 2009 NCAA Division II Midwest/South Central Regional which runs from Monday to Wednesday, May 4-6, at Grand Valley State University's The Meadows Golf Club in Allendale, Mich. FSU, which is seeded second among 10 Midwest Region qualifying teams, will join 10 other South Central Region teams to play in the 54-hole tournament. Four individuals from each region are also slated to compete.

The top five men's teams and the top two individuals not with a team from each regional (regardless of region) will advance to the 2009 NCAA-II Men's Golf Championships on May 19-22 at the Loomis Trail Golf Club in Blaine, Wash. The finals will be hosted by Western Washington University.

Meanwhile, the Bulldog women's team will participate in the 2009 NCAA Division II Women's Golf East Super Regional from Sunday to Tuesday, May 3-5, at California, Pa. Ferris State is among eight teams slated to compete in the East Super Regional, which will be held at the Cedarbrook Golf Course. California University of Pennsylvania will be hosting the regional tournament and FSU is the third seed in the East Region.

Nine teams and four individuals from non-qualifying teams will compete in the women's golf super regional with all participants playing throughout the 54 holes of competition. The top three women's teams along with the top three individuals not affiliated with a team from each super regional will advance to the 2009 NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championships to be played May 13-16 at the University of Findlay (Ohio) Golf Course.
