7th Year

Alma Mater:
Ashland, 1991

Lesa Bickley begins her seventh year in the 2009 season as an assistant coach on the Ferris State coaching staff and will continue working primarily with the Bulldogs' pitchers.

Bickley was part of the Ferris State's coaching staff which was recognized as the 2008 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA)/NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region Coaching Staff of the Year.

In the 2003 season, Bickley along with former Bulldog assistant Chad Haberland served as interim co-head coaches as a result of head coach Keri Becker being called to active military service prior to the start of the 2003 spring campaign.

A volunteer assistant for Ferris State in the 2002 season, Bickley is certainly no stranger to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) after having served as head coach at the University of Findlay (Ohio) for three seasons (1998-00). While at UF, Bickley compiled a 64-64-1 coaching record and guided the Oilers to a 21-16-0 overall record in her final year. In 1999, she coached Findlay to the NAIA Independent Great Lakes Region sectional tournament title as the Oilers went on to a regional tourney appearance.

Prior to Findlay, Bickley was head softball coach at New Riegel (Ohio) High School (1995-97) where her teams won three sectional championships along with a district and regional title in 1996.

A four-year letterwinner in softball at Ashland (Ohio) University, Bickley earned All-Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) honors and was the conference's pitcher of the year as a junior. She also was a two-time all-region selection and was recognized as an Academic All-American.

Bickley, who graduated from Ashland in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in education, is currently working towards completing her Masters of Education degree.
