A 2007 graduate . . . Served as a team captain in final prep campaign . . . A two-time (2006 and 2007) all-academic team selection . . . Member of the 2007 MHSSCA All-District Softball Team . . . Helped lead the 2006 Mohawks team to a 34-6 overall record to go with a regional crown and a state playoff quarterfinal-round appearance . . . Participated four years apiece in softball, basketball, volleyball, and equestrian . . . Member of National Honor Society, Student Council, and Varsity Club . . . Served two years as class vice-president.

Personal: Daughter of Randy and Lynda Curtis . . . Born 1/16/89 in Big Rapids, Mich. . . . Father works as a cement contractor and mother is employed as an office manager/secretary . . . Has an older brother and older sister . . . Member of the National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA) District 03 and traveled throughout the state with her father this past summer competing in different barrel races . . . Won first place in the youth NBHA First Division . . . A nine-year member of the Mecosta County 4-H Horse Club and has won several grand champion awards while attending state competition four years in a row . . . Majoring in health care systems administration.

Coach Becker on Curtis: "Kim is a late addition to the Bulldog squad that brings additional speed to line up and competition at a number of positions. Kim will spend the year pushing Amanda Harrington at the second base position as well as vie for time in the outfield as she learns the ropes at this level."

My first softball memory: Playing ball with my cousins at every family gathering
The thing I like most about Ferris State Softball is: The chemistry between the players and coaches along with the "family-like" atmosphere
My worst fear: Being in the dark
My advice to youngsters: Always work hard and believe in yourself. You can do anything you want to, it just takes hard work and dedication.
The best professors I've had at FSU have been: Gary Huey
My favorite movie: Failure To Launch
My role model is: My parents
If I could change one thing about softball, I would: have more spectators
I chose Ferris State because: of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and because it's close to home
The motto I live by: Henry David Thoreau's Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.
Favorite music group: I like all kinds of music
Something unusual about me is that: I participate in barrel racing horses
What has been the most thrilling moment of your life outside of sports?: Going out west with my entire family for vacation
